Bacon Shot Glasses Are Real and You Can Make Them

Crazy edible shot glasses make the simple act of taking a shot of booze even more fun and flavorful, and you can make them out of everything from toasted marshmallows to peppermint candies to chocolate chip cookies to Jolly Ranchers. But for the breakfast-loving, meat-eating, fan-of-all-things-decadent internet, these bacon shot glasses rank supreme.

The most viral iteration of the bacon shot glass comes from blogger Through the Eyes of My Belly (the how-to was actually her first blog post ever). She reinforces crispy bacon with a layer of chocolate for a salty-sweet shooter that doubles as a snack.

To make the bacon shot glasses, cut up the core of a paper towel roll into 3-inch sections and roll them with tinfoil. Then slice raw, thick-cut bacon slices into 4-inch pieces to wrap around the tin-foil, being sure to create a solid bacon base for the shot glass. Place the bacon molds upside down on a wire rack and bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes until the bacon is slightly crispy. Remove from the oven, cool and release the bacon from the mold gently. Pour melted chocolate into the bacon glasses and roll to coat the inside, then chill for an hour or until chocolate hardens.

The blogger recommends filling the indulgent shooters with creamy liqueurs like Kahlúa or Baileys, but we think it would taste best with something stronger and meatier, like bacon-infused bourbon or bacon fat-washed vodka—or even a miniaturized version of one of these bacon cocktails. Brunch just got a whole lot more interesting.
