3 Sensational Summer Cocktails with Baileys Almande

By

Technically, summer begins on June 21, but everyone knows the season truly kicks off well before then. Chaise lounges get rolled back onto patios, pools re-open and summer bounties start transforming farmer’s markets and produce sections across the country, opening up all sorts of outdoor hosting and visiting occasions that last till Labor Day.

As menus shift to summer mode, so too do cocktail lists. Lighter, airier options come to the fore. Just in time for your warm-weather gatherings, Baileys has introduced Baileys Almande, a brand-new, dairy-free, gluten-free, and totally vegan liqueur made from real almond milk.

We heard it was rich, light-tasting, nuanced, and versatile—all at the same time. In other words, well-suited to the flavors of the season. To find out just how well-suited, we mixed Baileys Almande into three original cocktail recipes that pull from a range of summer accents, from mango and pineapple to seasonal berries, dates and iced coffee.

Check out the results below, and add three highly approachable, tasty recipes to your summer repertoire.

There’s no cream—or dairy of any kind—in this concoction, but you would never know it. You can probably drink it with a straw, but you may want to have a spoon nearby.

There are two parts to this one, but we think you’ll find it’s well worth the second step. (Salted date caramel is the result, after all.) Let the Baileys Almande swirl down into the glass, then add your caramel sweetener, stir, and enjoy.

You wouldn’t necessarily expect an almond milk liqueur to play well alongside tropical flavors like pineapple, but this cocktail, chilled by ice-encased fresh blueberries and raspberries, proves otherwise. It’s a fizzy, well-balanced summer sipper.
