Hurricane: Get Ready for Spring Break


Wanna know why they call this cocktail the Hurricane? It’s got four freaking ounces of rum in it, that’s why. It’s a cocktail you really only have while on vacation, when it’s not necessarily a bad thing if your drink steers you into, um, choppy waters.

Here’s how to make it—steady as she goes!:

Ingredients |

  • 4 oz dark rum
  • 2 oz passion fruit syrup
  • 2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • Mint, for garnish
Method |
  • Add rum, lemon juice, and passion fruit syrup to a shaker tin with ice, and shake to combine and chill.
  • Strain over crushed ice in a Hurricane glass and garnish with a mint sprig.
