6 Summer Drinks to Make That Will Get All the Instagram Likes

By

Summer is the best time to post on Instagram. During the winter you’re in hermit mode, hiding away from the world in your apartment. Even if you are out and about, you’re probably wearing several pairs of heavy gloves that won’t make it easy to snap a quick pic. Summer gives us the chance to inspire jealousy in our followers and rack up the likes. Forget photos of the beach, your summer vacay or fresh produce for your Bon Appetit-worthy meals. The best way to get likes (and envy) is with cocktails. Here are our six favorite drinks to make and post to blow up on Insta.

Your Instagram followers are going to go gaga for this cocktail. Not only is it a vibrant, psychedelic green color—thanks to the Midori—but it also has a neon green, cucumber-mint popsicle as garnish. Created by the Monnalisa Bar in Houston, Texas, this Daiquiri variation is not just nice to look at (or photograph); it’s downright gulpable. Snap this refreshing libation at a poolside hang or summer barbeque.

This cocktail checks all the boxes for Instagram gold: It’s pink, it’s fizzy, it has that #pamplemousse, and it’s got a giant strawberry hanging off the glass as a garnish. Post this and you’re guaranteed to get at least a couple hundred likes—as long as you have the followers.

When Frosé first made its debut, it almost crashed the internet. While it is a bit passé circa summer 2018, it can still hold its own on your Insta, as long as you’re taking the time to make it at home rather than getting it from a slushie machine at a bar. Just make sure to include a flower garnish (think orchid rather than daisy or carnation) in the photo, along with a pool loaded with your most beautiful friends in the background, to really inspire that FOMO.

The Essentials

Rosé
Dry Vermouth
Berry Syrup

It’s a commonly known fact that the internet loves the color blue, especially blue drinks. This classic tiki cocktail not only has an electric blue hue, but it’s also so refreshing and delicious that it’s downright chuggable. You simply can’t find a better looking—or more vibrantly blue—drink to battle the summer heat.

The Essentials

light rum
blue curaçao
Pineapple Juice

This Supercall original tastes like a boozified Peach Tea Snapple. Made with vodka, peach schnapps and iced tea, it is incredibly easy to concoct. Despite its simple recipe, the drink still has major Instagram appeal. Not only is it made in a Mason jar, a staple on Instagram, but it also features fresh summer peaches as garnish—which is a big win if you add a video to your Insta story of you buying said peaches at your local farmers market. Bonus points (and likes) if you film or photograph yourself brewing your black tea in the sun, preferably in a window with your cat and at least five house plants.

The Essentials

Vodka
Peach Schnapps
Lipton’s Iced Tea, to top
