Ben & Jerry’s Is Coming Out with Bourbon Ice Cream

By

Soon, you won’t have to choose between drowning your sorrows in a bottle of bourbon or a pint of Ben & Jerry’s. Because Ben & Jerry’s is releasing a new bourbon-flavored ice cream—just in time for your next breakup.

While the company hasn’t officially announced anything yet, they have registered the trademark for a flavor called Urban Bourbon, and Instagrammer Candy Hunting got their hands on the packaging art. All signs point to a soul-soothing combination of burnt caramel ice cream with almonds, fudge flakes and bourbon caramel swirls.

This isn’t the first time Ben & Jerry’s have ventured into the world of whiskey. Bourbon Brown Butter (bourbon ice cream with dark chocolate whiskey cordial cups and a bourbon brown butter swirl) was released in Spring of 2016, and Bourbon Pecan Pie (bourbon ice cream, pecans, shortbread cookie pieces and a whiskey caramel swirl) was also released as a limited edition flavor in Texas.

Like B&J’s other bourbon-flavored creations, the upcoming Urban Bourbon is also expected to be just that—bourbon-flavored, containing no actual alcohol. So you might have to keep that bottle handy after all.

While we anxiously await for an official announcement from Ben & Jerry’s, along with a release date, we’ll be getting started on recipe ideas for an Urban Bourbon ice cream float (spiked with actual bourbon), topped with a whiskey-infused chocolate syrup.
