Attention all South Beach locals, tourists and fans: You can get free Mojitos on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 12 different bars in Miami and elsewhere in Broward County.
The drinks are being given out by Bacardi, which is celebrating its 156th year of existence. According to Miami.com, more than 5,500 Bacardi employees (they go by “Primos,” which means cousins in Spanish) will go to 12 bars as undercover bartenders. Between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., they’ll ask bar goers if they want to try a signature cocktail. If the person says yes, Bacardi picks up the tab.
You might be thinking, isn’t that a little early to go bar hopping in the hopes of a free minty beverage? To which we say, Thursday is a great day to get out of the office and start your weekend early. And with so many Primos out there, it shouldn’t be too hard to score a drink. Plus, it’s not limited to rum and Mojitos. The signature drinks could be made with any of Bacardi’s brands, which include Grey Goose, Dewar’s and Bombay Sapphire. All you have to do is say yes to any eager bartenders and keep your cash in your wallet. The only downside is that Pitbull aka Mr. Worldwide aka Mr. 305 won’t have his 50-plus Mojito cocktail bar up and running by the time of the promotion.
