Most college students have to choose between spending their summer abroad, working as an intern or—our preferred character-building activity—drinking beer. Hopeful interns with a bit of web programming knowledge need not decide between those options, though, thanks to the new beer internship at Technomobile, a Tokyo-based IT firm. The Japanese company is offering workers the chance to experience its laid back work ethic in a short internship, complete with typical workplace beverages (beer), to see how potential hires fit within the beer-forward office culture.
According to Rocket News 24, the work itself has nothing to do with drinking, unlike some other internships that pay prospective hires to drink and travel. Technomobile just knows many web developers prefer to program with a frosty beer in hand. According to the job application, there are no formal education requirements, so anyone over 25 with a year of web development experience can apply for the internship—oh, and you’ll need a taste for Asahi, Kirin or Sapporo, of course.
