There’s no candy that makes us more nostalgic for childhood than gummy bears. Even if you’re a chocolate person, you can’t deny the persuasive power of the fruity, springy little candies that come in every color of the rainbow. But everyone grows up, even gummy bears. And a booze soaked bear is one of the ultimate tasty treats. While you could totally soak your bears and them eat them as a snack, we love them freezing them into another one of our favorite childhood treats, popsicles.
Making boozy gummy bear popsicles requires some time and patience, but the eye-catching result is worth the labor. First, you need to soak the gummy bears in vodka overnight so their little sugary bodies plump up with the liquor. Then you pop a couple into the popsicle molds, fill with lemonade and put them in the freezer for 90 minutes. The tricky part comes next when you use a long, thin object (we prefer a chopstick) to push additional bears into the slushy lemonade. Then you add the stick and freeze them overnight. Voila! By morning you have a pretty, lightly alcoholic treat to beat the heat.
