A big, thick, juicy pork chop is a work of art already. But with the right cocktail it becomes a masterpiece. This bourbon-based libation from Yardbird Southern Table & Bar uses ingredients traditionally used to flavor pork, like apple cider, thyme and Dijon mustard. It’s the perfect accompaniment to any hunk of meat, not to mention great all by its lonesome. “The Dijon mustard adds a little kick,” says supervisor Andy Clark of Yardbird’s Las Vegas outpost. “It’s for the adventurous drinker.”
The Porkchop Cocktail
1 Cup White sugar
1 Cup Water
- Combine the water and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce to a simmer and stir until sugar dissolves, then immediately take the saucepan off the heat.
- Let cool, then pour into a container (a Mason jar works nicely) and store in the refrigerator for up to one month.
