Hay Merchant Michelada

This Michelada variation, created by bartender Lainey Collum (formerly of Houston’s Hay Merchant), is the definition of flavor-blasted. Made with gochujang (a Korean fermented chili paste), four types of hot sauce, soy sauce, Worcestershire, fish sauce and spices, it’s an orgy of umami. The ingredients for the mix may take a little effort to source, but, we promise, it’s worth the effort.

2 oz Michelada Mix
12 oz Mexican Lager
Lime

Method

  • Squeeze half a lime into a pint glass and drop the expressed lime into the glass.
  • Add the Michelada mix and top with chilled Mexican lager. Stir well to combine.

3 oz Mineral Water
1.5 oz Sugar

  • Combine everything in a blender and mix until smooth.
