Ingredients

2 cups brown sugar
.5 Cup butter
1 pinch salt
2 Quarts hot water
3 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
2 cups rum
Freshly ground nutmeg

Method

  • Add all ingredients except rum to a slow cooker and mix together.
  • Cover, and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours.
  • Stir in rum.
  • Ladle into mugs and garnish with freshly ground nutmeg.
