Imperial Caipirinha

This amped up Caipirinha from Shawn Chen of RedFarm and Decoy in New York City gets a food-friendly hit of spicy-sweet ginger liqueur, savory tarragon and tropical lychee. Sip it with spicy, chile oil-laced wontons or noodles, or as a pre-dinner aperitif.

Ingredients

1.5 oz Cachaça
.5 oz Ginger Liqueur
Half a Fresh Lime
2 nuts lychee
Lime shell and tarragon sprig, for garnish
1 sprig tarragon

Method

  • In a shaker, lightly muddle the tarragon and lychee nuts. Squeeze the lime half into the shaker, preserving the shell.
  • Add all remaining ingredients and fill with ice.
  • Shake, and pour all contents of the shaker into an old-fashioned glass. Garnish with the lime shell and a tarragon sprig.
