There’s more than one way to enjoy Sex On The Beach—the cocktail, that is. Traditionally, the summertime staple is made with vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice, cranberry and Chambord. Invented in 1987 during Spring Break (surprise!) in Florida, the cocktail was the product of a competition between bars over who could sell the most peach schnapps. Invented by a man known only as “Ted” at the Confetti Bar, the cocktail not only helped earn him the title but also started a craze. The somewhat unorthodox name comes from an interview in which Ted listed the two reasons he thought teenagers came in droves to Florida for Spring Break: the Beach and the Sex.

For added flavor, swap out the vodka for white rum or, if you really want to lean into the whole “beach” thing, try using coconut rum (we recommend Kalani Ron Con Coco).
