Blackberries and mezcal are a natural match—the sweet-tart berry has a punchy flavor that can stand up to mezcal’s bold smokiness. Adding dark, malty porter into the mix isn’t as obvious, but we promise, the result is complete flavor synergy. Porter’s bitter chocolate flavor compliments toasty mezcal, which is often paired with dark chocolate in Mexico. While the mezcal, blackberries, lime juice and agave nectar make a delicious frozen cocktail on their own, turning it into a Bulldog by dunking a full bottle of porter into the drink takes it to the next level of awesomeness.
2 oz mezcal
.75 oz lime juice
.5 oz agave nectar
.5 Cup crushed ice
1 bottle porter
- Combine all ingredients except for the beer in a blender, blend until smooth and pour into a large Margarita glass. If your glass is the right size, you should still have room for the beer.
- Holding your thumb over the opening of the bottle of beer, quickly overturn the bottle into the glass, removing your thumb just before submerging it into the glass.
- Drink with a straw, ideally with a friend.
