According to Charity Johnston, bar manager at Los Angeles Japanese hot spot ROKU, it also adds a pleasing texture to their signature house punch. “I wanted to create a tropical cocktail that featured a multitude of different flavors, including sweet, tropical and tart,” Johnston says. “Along with guava, pineapple and passionfruit, we juice watermelon, which also adds texture to the drink.” If you’re throwing a house party, backyard barbecue or al fresco dinner party this season, this crowd-pleasing bowlful of fruity booze is begging for a place on the table.
1 750-mL bottle coconut vodka (we like Three Olives Coconut Water)
375-ml Svedka vodka
375-ml Clementine Svedka vodka
Fruit from half a watermelon, puréed and strained
5 passion fruits, fruit scooped OR 7 oz passion fruit purée, strained
2 guavas, puréed and strained
2 pineapples, juiced
Orchid, for garnish
- Mix all ingredients save for the garnish together in a punch bowl with a large block of ice.
- Garnish with an orchid and serve.
